The Lost Sisters

The Lost Sisters (The Folk Of The Air #1.5)

The Lost Sisters – Sometimes the difference between a love story and a horror story is where the ending comes . . .

The Lost Sisters

While Jude fought for power in the Court of Elfhame against the cruel Prince Cardan, her sister Taryn began to fall in love with the trickster, Locke.

Half-apology and half-explanation, it turns out that Taryn has some secrets of her own to reveal.

I don’t like Taryn. I didn’t like her in The Cruel Prince and now I want to skin her alive and wear her skin, just to apologize to Jude and to tell Locke to fuck off.

A bit much? I don’t care.

This short novella is written as a letter to Jude with Taryn explaining her point of view and the reason for her doing everything she did.

Now, I know they always say, “Be the better person. Forgive..” and blah blah blah. Well, to that I say no.

It was interesting reading from Taryn’s POV but all her excuses just made me wanna strangle her. She is whiny and her reason for betraying her sister is just – gah! Where is your loyalty woman!?!

That being said, The Lost Sisters was a much-needed read for the series. I love Holly Black’s atmospheric writing and The Lost Sisters doesn’t let down.  Even though I hate Taryn, I still appreciate the terrible energy she brings to the story. Because…it just fits. The Folk Of The Air is not a happy-happy-fluff-fluff series and it sticks with it.

OH! A BONUS! The first chapter of The Wicked King is at the end and well… *ugly crying*

I need The Wicked King. Now.

Anyway, that’s all I have to say.

Do I think this book is a must read? Nah. Do I think this book is a great addition that will help you fully appreciate The Folk of the Air series? Yep.
